- The property lost is a cell phone, licence plate, bank card or government issued identification, with or without a serial number. Please contact your service provider to get a replacement.

I tried to explain your rights to the best of my ability, but ultimately, Im now only sure of one thing: our noise regulations arent what they ought to be. However, rather than dwelling on which countries are doing it better, Im choosing to focus on what we can do.
Namely, the first thing you should do if you find yourself having to face a particularly noisy neighbor is educate yourself on local laws. Ive left plenty of helpful resources in my previous articles on the subject. Basically, thatll tell you if the police would even be on your side. But before you try to call the police, make sure youve done everything else by the book:
- Talk to whoevers making the noise
- Isolate yourself if possible soundproof your home or wear noise-canceling headphones
- Get a mediator, like your landlord or an attorney
On the other hand, the person behind the noise could also be behind a wheel. In that case, it would be much harder to report the incident. Still, the chances are high that the police will catch the culprit without your help.
However, if you keep seeing the same car driving by with music spilling out of every window especially at night you could record and report the incidents. Take videos, write down the license plates, and try to remember the driver. That will probably help the police deal with the problem.

After submitting the report, a temporary number will be automatically sent to you by email. All communication will be done by email. Your report will be reviewed and if any changes are required, you will be sent a request for changes. Once the report is corrected and approved, you will receive an official event number by email, as well as a PDF copy of the report.
Make sure you have a valid email address as well as the date and location of the crime and information on the vehicle involved, if applicable.

Reporting And Providing Information About Crimes And Suspicious Activities
Reporting crimes and providing information about crimes in a timely manner are responsibilities of individuals. For reporting purposes, crimes are considered as either emergencies or non-emergencies. Emergencies should be reported by calling 911. These include crimes that are in progress or about to happen, and ones that have resulted in serious personal injury, property damage, or property loss. Other criminal and suspicious activities are considered as non-emergencies and should be reported to the SDPD or other agencies on other phone numbers listed below.
Persons witnessing and calling to report crimes are routinely asked for their names, addresses, and phone numbers. This is done so that they can be contacted later if necessary during the investigation of the crime. Witnesses desiring to remain anonymous should request that the officers responding to the call not contact them. Even if contacted later by a detective, the identity of the caller will not be revealed to anyone involved in the crime. In this sense, reports of crimes are treated as confidential and the identity of the caller is protected. However, if the case goes to trial, the report could be released to the prosecuting agency and under the rules of discovery, to the defense. It could also be subpoenaed in a civil trial. And you may be called to testify in court.

Once a tip has been received it will be sent to the law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction over the reported crime. The agency will investigate the tip and report back the outcome of the investigation to our administrative office in Southfield, Michigan.
You can follow up on your tip by calling our administrative office on specified days. The phone number to call when following up on a tip is 313-922-5000. The hours to call our main office for follow-ups are: Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. 3 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 p.m. 5 p.m.
If your tip leads to an arrest, you will be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500. Rewards are processed once a month. If you are eligible for a reward, we have partnered with local banks that will disburse the reward in cash. No identification is needed, and you will only need your tip reference number and the amount of the reward to get paid.
