Medical Examination And Psychological Evaluation

Once applicants receive a Conditional Offer of Employment they must complete a medical examination, including drug and alcohol, testing along with a psychological evaluation. The medical examination is required to be accepted in the Oklahoma State Police Pension and Retirement System. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory or similar instrument will be administered by a licensed psychologist.

    Effective Friday, October 8, 2021, the application portal for the position of Cadet-in-Training will be temporarily closed due to the high volume of applications. It is anticipated that a new job posting will be available November 8, 2021. Applicants who submitted their application prior to the October 8 date will remain in consideration.

    General Minimum Qualifications

    U.S. Citizenship Only United States citizens will receive consideration. Qualified applicants will be required to provide proof of citizenship early in the selection process.

    Age Requirements Must be 21 years old but not older than 39 years old at the time of appointment .

    Education Must possess a high school diploma or General Education Diploma .

    Motor Vehicle License Must possess, provide, and have maintained a valid United States, state issued drivers license , and show evidence of at least three years of responsible driving experience. Must demonstrate routine driving experience within the most recent three year period.

    Selective Service Must be registered with the Selective Service System or exempt from the Selective Service System registration as a female or due to age or military status. Those with military service must provide documentation of an honorable discharge.

    • Failure to submit a self-declaration form if you have existing criminal conviction
    • submission of fingerprints for the Vulnerable Sector search to confirm or eliminate a pardon associated to applicants information.
    • A vulnerable sector check is conducted as part of a criminal record check. It is a search of records suspended sexual offences. The vulnerable sector check is national RCMP policy and requires applicants who have a combination of name and/or gender and/or date of birth as a pardoned/suspended sex offender to undergo fingerprinting to verify their identity. The vast majority of those fingerprinted will not have a pardoned/suspended sexual offence however fingerprinting remains a necessity as it eliminates the possibility of an offender changing their name to circumvent a criminal record. This is not an accusation of criminal activity or guilt fingerprints are used to confirm your identity only. Please see the RCMP website for more information.
