Requirements For Joining The Military
The U.S. military has six branches of service: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Space Force. The requirements to join are similar for all six. The main differences are in age limits, test scores, and fitness levels. Men and women meet different fitness standards. Besides the requirements listed here, a branch may have other requirements.
Age Limits for Enlisting
You must be at least 17 to enlist in any branch of the active military. The oldest you can be to enlist for active duty in each branch is:

You must take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test. The ASVAB has 10 subtests.

Two Months Before Separation
Continue to actively hunt for job opportunities and send out resumes.
Verify your DD214. Your DD 214 is the most important document you will ever take away from the military. Any inaccuracies that go un-fixed may cause you to be ineligible for VA benefits, or worse.
Make sure your DD214 reflects all awards, citations, and MOS information.
Apply for permissive orders to go house hunting in the area you are planning to move to.
Make sure your departure physical is correct.

Day 1 Aosb Main Board
During the first day of AOSB, you will undergo a series of fitness tests, including the Bleep Test. You will also receive an Introductory Talk to explain what will happen during the AOSB, and also what the instructors are looking for.
You will also need to pass a series of psychometric tests and also undertake a written assessment which includes an assessment of your general knowledge, current affairs and also your Army and military knowledge. You will also undergo personality testing and cognitive ability assessments.

Spine And Sacroiliac Joints
The following conditions may disqualify you for military service:
a. Arthritis.
b. Complaint of a disease or injury of the spine or sacroiliac joints with or without objective signs that has prevented the individual from successfully following a physically active vocation in civilian life or that is associated with pain referred to the lower extremities, muscular spasm, postural deformities or limitation of motion.
c. Deviation or curvature of spine from normal alignment, structure or function if —
It prevents the individual from following a physically active vocation in civilian life.
It interferes with wearing a uniform or military equipment.
It is symptomatic and associated with positive physical finding and demonstrable by X-ray.
There is lumbar scoliosis greater than 20 degrees, thoracic scoliosis greater than 30 degrees, and kyphosis or lordosis greater than 55 degrees when measured by the Cobb method.
d. Fusion, congenital, involving more than two vertebrae. Any surgical fusion is disqualifying.
e. Healed fractures or dislocations of the vertebrae. A compression fracture, involving less than 25% of a single vertebra is not disqualifying if the injury occurred more than one year before examination and the applicant is asymptomatic. A history of fractures of the transverse or spinous processes is not disqualifying if the applicant is asymptomatic.
f. Juvenile epiphysitis with any degree of residual change indicated by X-ray or kyphosis.

Education And Skill Requirements
Military police officers must be at least 18 years old and they must be enlisted or commissioned in one of the four branches of the United States military. They must be eligible to receive a confidential security clearance, which will require a background investigation. To be accepted into military police training, prospective MP’s must have a relatively clean past, with no criminal record or prior history of drug use.
MP’s receive extensive instruction in law enforcement techniques and tactics after they complete basic training. Once they complete all of their training, they are assigned to a military police unit and may be deployed anywhere in the world.
Personality Conduct And Behavior Disorders
The following conditions may disqualify you for military service:
a. Personality, conduct or behavior disorders as evidenced by frequent encounters with law enforcement agencies, antisocial attitudes or behavior, which, while not sufficient cause for administrative rejection, are tangible evidence of impaired capacity to adapt to military service.
b. Personality, conduct or behavior disorders where it is evident by history, interview or psychological testing that the degree of immaturity, instability, personality inadequacy, impulsiveness or dependency will seriously interfere with adjustment in the Army as demonstrated by repeated inability to maintain reasonable adjustment in school, with employers and fellow workers, and with other social groups.
c. Other behavior disorders including but not limited to conditions such as authenticated evidence of functional enuresis or encopresis, sleepwalking or eating disorders that are habitual or persistent occurring beyond age 12, or stammering of such a degree that the individual is normally unable to express themselves clearly or to repeat commands.
d. Specific academic skills defects, chronic history of academic skills or perceptual defects, secondary to organic or functional mental disorders that interfere with work or school after age 12. Current use of medication to improve or maintain academic skills.
e. Suicide, history of attempted or suicidal behavior.

How Much Will I Be Paid
Starting salary levels for a new police constable may vary by force area, so please check your chosen force website. Generally speaking, starting salaries for new police constables is between £23,556 and £26,862 . In addition to annual pay awards, police officers who have not reached the top of their pay scale receive annual incremental pay of at least 2%, and often 4-6%, depending on rank and experience, subject to satisfactory performance.
In addition to basic pay, officers in London receive London Weighting of £2,697 and London Allowance of up to £5,338. Officers in Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey or Thames Valley may receive regional allowances of up to £3,000 per annum. Those in Bedfordshire, Hampshire or Sussex may receive a regional allowance of up to £2,000 per annum.

How To Become A Military Police Officer

Training To Become A Royal Military Police Officer
There are two different stages of your training to join the RMP as an Officer. The first stage is to pass the 44 week intensive Sandhurst Army Officer training course.
During this course, you will need to pass a series of tests and exams and also show that you have what it takes to become a competent leader, manger and Officer in the British Army. Once you have successfully passed Sandhurst, you will then go on the undertake the Military Police Officers Course which will take place at the Defence School of Policing and Guarding.
This course, which is effectively the second stage of your RMP Officer training, takes a total for 12 weeks to complete. This is where you will learn your trade as an Officer with the Royal Military Police.
You will learn the role of a Police Officer in the Army, undertake specialised training in Crime Investigation, learn how to gather important evidence from a Crime Scene, undertake Close Protection Training and also learn about Military Law.

What Is A Military Police Officer
A military police officer is both a soldier and a police officer or peacekeeper. Modern Us Army Military Police
In the U.S. Army, a simple patch with the legend MP worn on the left arm distinguishes a military-police soldier wearing the Army Combat Uniform . This patch is attached to the uniform by a hook and loop fastener . For both garrison law-enforcement duty as well as for tactical field work, the patch is a subdued brown with black lettering.
U.S. military police used to be distinguished by a brassard worn on the left arm when on duty in previous uniform versions such as the Battle Dress Uniform. The brassard was black with white lettering for garrison law-enforcement duty and could include extra designations such as Customs MP or K-9 MP . Tactical brassards were green with black lettering for temperate climates and sand with light brown lettering for desert duty.
When wearing a Class A or B uniform they are authorized to wear combat boots instead of regulation low-cut shoes. However, like Airborne soldiers who may only wear the boots while on jump status, MPs may only wear these boots with Class A or B uniforms when performing law enforcement duties.
