St Lucie County Man To Face Murder Charge In Fatal Shooting Of West Palm Beach Girl 16

School police officer shortage in Palm Beach County

WEST PALM BEACH A St. Lucie County man will face a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm in the Dec. 10 shooting death of a 16-year-old girl in West Palm Beach, city police said Tuesday.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Larry Darnell Young Jr. on Dec. 16 on unrelated charges in St. Lucie County. West Palm Beach homicides detectives identified Young, 25, as the gunman in the shooting near 17th Street and Spruce Avenue and arrested him Monday.

City police have not identified the teen beyond saying she was not involved in the altercation that led to the gunfire. Her family has invoked its right to privacy under a 2018 amendment to the state constitution, modeled on California’s Marsy’s Law, that allows crime victims or their families to withhold their names from public reports.

The gunfire broke out amid an argument that occurred just after 8 p.m., city police said at the time of the incident. The girl was taken in a private car to Good Samaritan Medical Center and later transferred to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she died.

She was an innocent victim, police spokesman Mike Jachles said. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Selecting a profession is a significant decision. One of the main things to consider while deliberating is the outlook of the occupation. The career outlook of all professions is typically furnished by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The factors that come into play while predicting this include the future need for that profession and the spending nature of the employers. Lets see what the career outlook of a cop look likes.

Back in 2014 cops, there were around 806,000 jobs occupied by law enforcement officers. This is expected to rise by about 4% in the next 10 years. This rate of expansion is more lethargic than the median of other professions. This is understood to be that 33,000 fresh jobs will be generated for law enforcement officers. Because cops are typically hired by the government, their employment is influenced a great deal by the political atmosphere in a region.
