The Department attempted to be very thoughtful about what information was released and what was not. These decisions were not made to “hide” types of crimes from the public, instead decisions were made about who to protect.
The only reports that are not being released under this system are when the rights of the victim, age of the victim, possibility of revictimization or overall public safety/security issues take clear precedence over the public right to know.
Information on Rape and other sexual offenses, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Kidnapping, Suicides, locations that are sensitive , Homeland Security issues and tactical information that might compromise the safety of our officers are not being released in this system.
If the event is one of the many types we do show, but the location code was entered into the system incorrectly, the location of the event cannot then be verified. In this scenario, this particular event will not appear on the map at all, rather than providing possibly misleading information.

Procedures vary, depending upon whether or not the person requesting the report is the alleged violator, and whether or not there are charges from the report being prosecuted. Washington conviction records are official court documents describing the convictions of individuals found guilty of crimes. These records are prepared after indicted persons have submitted their pleas, had their hearings, and are adjudged guilty of the crime for which they are charged. Court Review : If either a state or local agency denies your request to inspect or copy a record, you may file a lawsuit in Superior Court in the county where the agency record is located to require the agency to release the record. Likewise, if there is unreasonable delay by the the agency, you may bring a similar court action.
The burden is on the agency to establish that its denial of inspection is proper or its estimate of time for response is reasonable. If you are successful in reversing the agency denial, the court will require the agency to pay costs and reasonable attorney fees incurred in the court action, and may award you an amount between $5 and $100 a day for each day that access to the records was denied.
Attorney General Review. If a state agency denies your request to inspect or copy all or part of a record, you may request Office of Attorney General review. Direct your written request for Attorney General review, along with a copy of your request to the agency, and the agencys written denial to:

Lightning Strike Data And How To Stay Safe
A total of 444 people died in lightning strikes between 2006 and 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Lightning strike deaths are most likely in the summer, and most often happen to people who are participating in outside recreation or work.
