Most of NBC Europe’s prime time programming was produced in Europe due to rights restrictions associated with U.S. prime time shows the channel’s weekday late-night schedule after 11:00 p.m. , however, featured The Tonight Show, and , which the channel’s slogan “Where the Stars Come Out at Night” was based around. Many NBC News programs were broadcast on NBC Europe, including Dateline NBC, Meet the Press and NBC Nightly News, the latter of which was broadcast simultaneously with the initial U.S. telecast. Today was also initially aired live in the afternoons, but was later broadcast instead the following morning on a more than half-day delay.

Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the intersection of 50th Street and Haverford Avenue around 10 p.m. for reports of a hit-and-run.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that a 29-year-old woman and two sisters, ages 3 and 13, were standing on the side of the road when a vehicle jumped the curb, hit a fire hydrant and slammed into the three victims.

Small said the vehicle, which appears to be a dark-colored Nissan, continued driving after it struck the woman and two children.
According to police, the 29-year-old woman was brought to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition with a severe leg injury. The 3-year-old girl suffered laceration to her face and body, and is in stable condition at CHOP. A 13-year-old girl also is stable at CHOP with several cuts and bruises.
Investigators have not speculated about what caused the driver to jump the curb, but Small said they believe speed played a role.

What Cases Could Jackson Hear On The Supreme Court
The start of the new judicial term is traditionally the first Monday in October. This year that falls on Monday, Oct. 3.
To date, the Supreme Court has agreed to review at least 20 cases during its 2022-2023 term, though it has not scheduled any of them for arguments. They include:
- Sackett v. Environmental Protection Agency, which concerns how the EPA interprets the Clean Water Act to determine what land falls within its jurisdiction.
- A legal challenge by Lorie Smith, a Colorado web designer who refuses to make sites for same-sex weddings and claims the state’s public-accommodation law violates her freedom of religion and right to free speech.
- National Pork Producers Council v. Ross, which examines whether California excessively burdened interstate commerce with a 2018 voter-backed amendment that meat sold in the state follow new animal-cruelty regulations.
One case Jackson won’t hear is a suit challenging affirmative action practices at Harvard University, where she earned both her undergraduate and law degrees and serves on the Board of Overseers. She testified in her hearings that she would recuse herself from the case.
