How do You Get Your Criminal Record Sealed?

When you apply online for a Criminal Record Check, the electronic copy is normally sent to your mail within 3 business days. During the police check application, you can request for a hard copy .

However, some applications may be flagged for manual review during the application process this will delay your police check result. If an application is flagged for manual review, an official from the National Criminal Check database must supervise the Check process.

You can get a “Statewide Criminal History Transcript” from the Illinois State Police . This document includes all arrests and convictions that happened in Illinois.

You will need to get your fingerprints taken. You can do this by contacting the ISP here:

You can also go to any licensed live scan fingerprint vendor. They will take your fingerprints and send your information to the ISP.

If you are homeless, you might be able to get fingerprinted for free. Contact your local law enforcement agency for details.

The ISP will email you an encrypted version of your report. In order to read your report, youll need to receive an online permission certificate and an encryption application for your computer or you can pick it up at a later date in the office where you ordered the transcript. Tasmania Police seeks to ensure the privacy and security of personal information. Information regarding an individuals police record will not be released outside the sphere of law enforcement, without the consent of the person.

Along with your completed application form, individuals are required to submit 100 points of identity, including at least one copy of photo ID. Copies of acceptable forms of identification must be certified by a Commissioner of Declarations or Justice of the Peace. A maximum of 2 forms of the same type of ID will be accepted .

How Do I Read My Summary Criminal History

The history will include your name, date of birth, and a list of all prior arrests and convictions. The history will list an abbreviation of the code sections of all charges and convictions. For example, if the history lists H& S § 11359, the letters refer to the California Codes and the number tells you the section identifying the crime in that code .
