Duties Of Air Force Security Forces
The use of deadly force to protect Air Force personnel and resources are among the serious responsibilities of security forces. They may be called upon to protect nuclear or conventional weapons, or protect Air Force One from hostile forces. Their duties also call for performing life-saving procedures, like CPR, when acting as first-responders to an accident or disaster situation.
Security forces personnel are also involved with the planning to implement security policies and procedures. They may be called upon to provide oversight and guidance or assistance to commanders and supervise and train other security forces personnel. This might include inspecting and evaluating the other personnel and analyzing any resulting reports or statistics.
Chances Of Getting A Job
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations claims that it hires approximately 230 new special agents each year, meaning there is ample opportunity for well-qualified candidates. It’s important to understand, though, that these agents may come from within the ranks of the Air Force, and so civilian candidates will want to remain competitive by achieving excellence in their college education and keeping a clean background.
Overseas Bases And Relations
Farkhor Air Base is a military air base located near the town of Farkhor in Tajikistan, 130 kilometres southeast of the capital Dushanbe. It is operated by the Indian Air Force in collaboration with the Tajikistan Air Force. Farkhor is India’s first and only military base outside its territory. There was an unconfirmed report of India building some assets at Ayni Air Base in Tajikistan, although the Tajik government has denied this. However, India had deployed its Army and Border Roads Organisation personnel to upgrade Ayni airbase by extending its runway, constructing an air-traffic control tower and perimeter fencing around the base. India provided medium-lift choppers to Tajikistan and a dedicated hospital there as part of efforts to build on the strategic ties between the two countries against the backdrop of US-led troops pulling out from Afghanistan in 2014. India is also helping with the development of Chah Bahar Seaport in southeastern Iran, which is speculated to be done to secure India’s Maritime assets and also as a gateway to Afghanistan & Central Asia. However, India and Israel also have a very strong defence relationship.

What Are Military Police
Each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces has its own law enforcement division
Military police are the law enforcement officers of each branch of the service. In the U.S., each branch has its own law enforcement division, which is responsible for maintaining security and discipline and enforcing laws on military property, such as bases and installations.
In areas where combat operations are taking place, the military police operate under a different mandate and are more closely associated with combat than with law enforcement.
Both men and women can join the armed services with the intention of becoming a member of the law enforcement team. Each branch has its own requirements for training.
The jurisdiction of the military police force extends to members of that branch of the service, as well as to anyone on military property. When military police forces are stationed in war zones, their responsibilities include protecting vehicle routes, doing reconnaissance and detaining soldiers who have disobeyed orders, deserted their post or committed other offenses.
Each branch has its own distinctive uniform. Normally, they carry hand weapons such as the M9. In combat situations, they might also be equipped with an M4 carbine, an M203 grenade launcher and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Problems With The Service Police
The Service Police are made up of the Royal Naval Police, the Royal Military Police and the Royal Air Force Police.
The Service Police all have similar powers to those of civilian police forces such as powers of arrest, search powers and the ability to use reasonable force in certain circumstances. In broad terms, both the Service Police and civilian police forces have jurisdiction to investigate criminal conduct by members of the armed forces, whereas only the Service Police have jurisdiction to investigate military offences .
The way in which the Service Police and civilian police are supposed to work out which force should take on what case is set out in various protocols, but there is and always has been a presumption that civilian police forces should have primacy. Notwithstanding this presumption, the Service Police investigate a considerable amount of criminal offending involving service men and women in the UK, including sexual offences. The Centre for Military Justice believes that the Service Police should not be investigating serious criminal offending, especially sexual offences, in the UK and that in relation to their work overseas, much more can be done to improve their independence and competence.

Chemical And Biological Weapons
In 1992 India signed the Chemical Weapons Convention , stating that it did not have chemical weapons or the capacity or capability to manufacture them. By so doing, India became one of the original signators of the Chemical Weapons Convention in 1993, and ratified it on 2 September 1996. In June 1997, India declared its stock of chemical weapons had been destroyed. By the end of 2006, India had destroyed more than 75 percent of its chemical weapons/material stockpile and was granted an extension to destroying the remaining stocks by April 2009. It was expected to achieve 100 percent destruction within that time frame. India informed the United Nations in May 2009 that it had destroyed its stockpile of chemical weapons in compliance with the international Chemical Weapons Convention. With this India has become third country after South Korea and Albania to do so. This was cross-checked by United Nations’ inspectors.
India has also ratified the Biological Weapons Convention and pledges to abide by its obligations. There is no clear evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, that directly points toward an offensive biological weapons programme. India does possess the scientific capability and infrastructure to launch such an offensive programme, but has chosen not to do so.

A Security Forces Marine Patrol airman from MacDill AFB featured in Airman Magazine.
Female airmen were first introduced into the Air Force’s law enforcement career field in 1971. The first women dog handlers came into service in 1973 and the first women entered the corrections field in 1974.
Renee, a San Francisco lawyer and a reservist, was assigned as a mobilization day assignee to the Air Police headquarters staff in 1962. During her career as a reservist she achieved the rank of colonel and served as the IMA to the office of the Deputy Chief of Security Police.
It was 1973 before the first female commissioned officer, Lt. Sally Kucera, was graduated from the Basic Security Police Officer’s Course.
By 1976 the number of women in the career field had risen from 198 to 1,280 or to almost 4% of the force. Clearly, a dichotomy existed where the Security Police officer was concerned. The split career field affected only the enlisted force.
Officers might serve in any capacity including commanding combat troops in a war zone. In 1976, Lt. Pamela Kraus became the first woman to graduate from the Air Base Defense Course at Camp Bullis, Texas.
